Here is one excerpt that gave me chills (good ones!):
Bryan Davis is on par with fantasy greats J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams. In some ways, I think he goes beyond these prolific writers when he blends legendary literature and world history. Then this conclusion:
On a literary level, Enoch’s Ghost along with the other installments, includes enough literary elements to make devout English teachers drool all over themselves. As a teacher by profession, I believe entire curriculums can be constructed around this comprehensive tale. For those interested, Davis’s website does have a link for teachers on how to incorporate his fiction in the classroom.I am so thankful for this amazing review. It comes at a time when I am in the middle of writing the sequel to this very book. What a way to stoke my creative fire!Parents, just go out and buy the whole lot. Harry Potter doesn’t stand a chance against Dragons and Oracles. Not only is the writing and construction superior, the lessons and values are fully in line with the Bible. As a parent, this is a series of books I want my son to read over and over again.

I have to agree with the review. Enoch's Ghost is amazing, and I can't wait for the next book. And after reading one chapter or less of Harry Potter, I can definitely say you are good competition for JRR Tolkien. As for C.S. Lewis? I must be in the wrong generation, as I didn't enjoy his Narnia books half as much as DIOM and Oracles of Fire. I'm sure the article was great encouragement for you, and I'm glad it was written. :-)
Totally awesome! Congrats!! I agree with the review, too, and have always thought of you as a modern Tolkien. My daughter enjoys your books and has read them more than once. :) She gets that from me, I think.
I have just recieved Enoch's Ghost through our interlibrary loan system. I can't wait to start it, especially after reading this. I also have one question I have wanted to ask you. I have heard that 'Raising Dragons' is going to be made into a movie. Is that true? Just wondering. And I want to thank you for all the wonderful work you have been doing. I LOVE your books! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have truely been blessed!
keilah,
A movie producer bought the theatrical rights for Raising Dragons, but that doesn't mean a movie will be made. They have to get the financial backing, and that's a big step.
I have to say that C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia *is* a children's series, so your series has more detail and more mystery to it. I enjoy Narnia, Middle Earth, and your "created world" all equally (mainly because every time I read each book again, I get something else out of them).
I also have to say I totally agree with the reviewer.
If there is *any* news about the Raising Dragons movie will you post it in your blog, here?
Please let me know, and congradulations on your review.

I have to definitely agree to both of those comments. Rowlings' books could never amount to your book accomplishments. I hope they make your books into a movie:) Have a Merry Christmas. God bles!

Congrats on your review! I love your books and I totally go with that movie making thing! I've read 3 of the dragons in our midst series! I'm working on tears of a dragon right now! it is awesome so far!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you! For writing these books. they are super amazingly awesome!;)
I was wondering-how would they get the funding for making a movie from your books? Is it by people buying the books, or some other way? Is there anyway we can help?
I hope no one makes your books into movies. They would probably ruin it.
mackenzie,
The best way to convince investors to back the film is for the book to sell a lot more copies, so if you tell all your friends, post reviews on the internet, write blog entries about the books, etc. That will help.
Keep praying. It might happen.
Jessica, Sapphira, Walter, Pam, and others, thank you for your kind comments and support. I am so thankful to have such great readers behind me!
Just out of curiosity which movie producer bought the rights?
Was it a company (like Walden Media), or an individual?
Thanks
-Jess
Jess,
The movie rights were purchased by a small group of investors in the Hollywood area, one of whom runs a small production company there. The script is written, and they are in the process of trying to get the appropriate partnerships together. It's a long process and there are many steps to take.
I don't mean to say that your book isn't movie worthy, by the way. It's great! It's just that they mess up so many good books. And in the comment before that (I do a lot of anonymous comments), I meant JK Rowling, not JRR Tolkien. Though you're good competition for him, too.
I do think it's great that Raising Dragons could be made into a movie. I would just get frustrated if they ruined it.
Re: anonymous' comment
I completely agree that sometimes they ruin your favourite books by turning them into movies.
*But* one really good example when this doesn't happen (in my opinion) is "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe."
The reason I asked before about Walden Media is because the person who owns the company is supposed to be a Christian. Walden Media is also the company that brought us LLW.
