I spoke at the public library in Humboldt, Tennessee, yesterday, so I took the opportunity to try on the outfit I'll be wearing for the Motiv8 fantasy fiction tour. My daughter Amanda made the main part for me. The sword, belt, pants, and boots came from RealArmorofGod.com
We had a nice gathering of 34 people at the event, a great turnout for such a small town. I spoke about the value of fantasy literature and how it can affect readers in a positive way.

Wow, that's a pretty cool costume! I like the sword, but the costume itself is really amazing too!

That's really nice outfit! Will Real Armor of God be at each stop (including Abbotsford) on the tour, or was that only last year?
Thank-you
Jessica
Jessica,
Real Armor of God will not be traveling with us, but we will be advertising for them throughout the tour.
SWEET tunic and outfit. Now, if you would just grow your hair out. {wink, wink!}
Wayne,
I know what you mean. I look like the geeky squire, a knight wannabe. Maybe a wig?
I think you look fine! That is a really cool costume. I love the sword!
Well although I don't get to see the Motiv8 tour, it sounds like I will get to when you're at Focus! :)
Trojan colors, it looks like. We should have tried to get a book event at USC. Now that would have created quite a stir!

awesome costume, but it does seem to need a few more small touches...:)
Just a few more weeks till the tour! I can't wait!
:)Ian(:
Hey, that is such an awesome outfit!! Your daughter is really talented. Ha ha, yeah, you should grow your hair and a beard! :D Just kidding.
That's cool! I do agree, though. You need a wig or longer hair. How about something like this? http://phantommoose.com/wp-content/images/Roles%20Article/Somindeo.jpg (That's me, by the way.)
Man, am I jealous. All I have is a itchy green gown from Goodwill. I also spent over an hour on making a cloak from a plastic tablecloth, and it looks horredous. Your stuff looks great.
LOVE that sword!
You look great. What does it take to get a real sword? How heavy is the sword and is it real metal?
NoahR, the sword is real, and it is real metal.
You can get all kinds of swords at realarmorofgod.com. Look near the bottom of my blog's sidebar and you'll see a logo for them. Just click on that, and it will take you to their website.
That's pretty cool! I'm so sad that I will have to miss this one! At least I will be able to watch the videos!!! ;)
Oh no! The mallet wielding dragon has a sword and he looks dangerous! RUN AWAY!!
*laughs*
Great pic! You really do look dangerous :P
Love it!!
Awesome costume!! I have been looking at dozens of things they sell on Real Armor of God and I have always wanted to buy Aragorn's sword badly. Hmm.. maybe I should buy a costume and walk about campus with it on. I'm sure many would be confused as to why a boy would ever be garbed with medevial wear in the twenty first century.
That sounds like fun Justin, but a lot of people say ridiculous things like "it's not Halloween today!"
I say, who cares. Have fun. ^-^
Awesome!!
If you grow your hair out, then you'll *really* look like Elrond. ;)
