All My Books

With Starlighter coming out, soon to be followed by Masters and Slayers, I have received many questions about my list of books and how they fit together, so here is a list of my books and an explanation that, I hope, will answer potential questions.

I have published thirteen novels:

I Know Why the Angels Dance - standalone novel for adults. Also suitable for teenagers.

Dragons in our Midst has four books (readers are 10 years old and up)
Raising Dragons
The Candlestone
Circles of Seven
Tears of a Dragon

Oracles of Fire has four books. It is a sequel series to Dragons in our Midst. (Same age range but longer in length and deeper in scope)
Eye of the Oracle
Enoch's Ghost
Last of the Nephilim
The Bones of Makaidos

Echoes from the Edge as three books. It is unrelated to any of my other series, and readers should be at least thirteen)
Beyond the Reflection's Edge
Eternity's Edge
Nightmare's Edge

Dragons of Starlight has one book so far, Starlighter, and it is unrelated to the three series above. It has the same target age range as Dragons in our Midst.

It will have three more books that don't have firm titles yet. This is a series for young adults (teens to adults but pre-teens can enjoy it as well). The second book in this series will probably come out in early 2011.

Masters and Slayers is a novel that will extend the story in Dragons of Starlight, but it will have a different series name due to the fact that it is being produced by a different publisher. It is complete and is scheduled to come out in September of 2010.

Masters and Slayers is designed for adults but can be enjoyed by teens as well. You don't have to read this book to enjoy the Dragons of Starlight series, and you don't have to read Dragons of Starlight to enjoy Masters and Slayers, but readers of both will get a lot more out of the story world. There will be one more book in that series. No title yet.

I will also produce a new series called Children of the Bard. This will continue the story world created in Dragons in our Midst and Oracles of Fire. There will be four books, the first of which will be called Song of the Ovulum. The first book is scheduled to come out in the spring of 2011.

I also have two non-fiction books for men: The Image of a Father and Spit and Polish for Husbands.

Starlighter Contest Sword Prize

The Starlighter Tour is getting closer. I mentioned in this link that I will be giving away a cloak and a sword as part of a contest for the tour. Now you can get a closer look at the sword. Click here to see a description of the "Sword of the Lord" from RealArmorofGod.com.

There are only two ways to enter this contest. One is to come to one of my bookstore events on the tour where you can enter your name in the drawing without any other qualifications. If you want to see where I will be, click on this link to see my tour schedule.

The other way to enter is to be the first to answer one of the daily questions I will ask on this blog from April 15 through June 15.

In order to answer a question, you will need to read Starlighter, so be sure to get your copy soon.

Early Starlighter Review

Some readers have obtained early copies of Starlighter. Here are a few short reviews:

I finished Starlighter today at school. It was amazing, as usual. :D I know I say this every time, but Mr. Davis gets better and better. :) It's a nice treat to have an author who respects his reader's intelligence, and I found myself continually guessing and trying to predict the next event.
I must applaud you again, Mr. Davis! I can't wait to find out even more about these characters who, in a day and a half, are already so close to my heart. Thanks again!

I just finished Starlighter last night... amazing. I was touched by the story, fell in love with the characters, and was drawn into the world right away. Great job, Mr. Davis!

I thought the book was awesome! Very different with having the dragons as the bad guys this time. The book had me on the edge of my seat as well as jumping out of my seat (literally and mostly with excitement), and I was even talking to the book as if it were a TV screen or as if I was standing right next to the charac...ters (With the occasional what? Noooo!, and don't do that!) I loved every minute of this book it definately had a lot more suspense, mystery, and adventure. I can't even guess what's going to happen next and that's great I love it when authors keep me guessing.

I'm about a fourth of the way through and so far I am loving it. Davis has such an originality to him. The worlds are always so...real. Loving the perspectives and already a few twists. That early in the book. Already twists. So yeah, I"m thoroughly enjoying it so far.
Starlighter. This is only the beginning.

If you can't come to a bookstore during the launch tour, the only way to enter for the drawing will be by answering a Starlighter question here on this blog during the two months of the tour, and the only way to be able to do that is to read the book so you will know how to answer.

Starlighter Contest

My Starlighter book tour contest will soon begin.

The grand prizes are a handmade, elvish-style cloak, and a real sword, as pictured on the left. The first place winner will receive his or her choice between the two, and the second place winner will receive the other. The one who chooses the sword must be 18 or older or have written parental permission to receive it.

There are two ways to enter. If you come to one of the bookstore events on the tour, you can enter the drawing by entering your name and contact information. There are no other requirements. You can see the bookstores where I will be appearing on the tour at this schedule link - Click Here.

The other way is to watch this blog and be ready to answer questions from Starlighter. I will ask a question each day from April 15 to June 15, and the first person to answer correctly each day will be entered in the drawing. Once you are entered, you may not enter again. If you want to enter in this way, it's important that you read Starlighter soon.

The book's publisher, Zondervan, will be conducting a big contest as well, and I think it will also begin on April 15. When I hear the details, I will post them.

You can buy Starlighter directly from me - Click Here, or from the Amazon or Christianbook.com links below.
