The Bones of Makaidos Release

Today is the day, the official release date of The Bones of Makaidos. A few stores have had it for a couple of days, and many more will put it on the shelves today, so call your bookstore before you go out to try to find it. I have mailed out all the pre-release orders, so they should arrive soon.

I am thankful to all who have helped in this effort, to my wonderful wife and children who have supported me through this series, to my publisher for all the work they have done to make this series popular, and especially to God for inspiring me with His love, grace, and power.

I hope readers will let me know what they think of this final book in the Oracles of Fire series.

the book was fantastic. I finished it at two this morning and it was a pleasure to read, and beyond words to describe it, I think.
I just have one question: are you going to come back and tell us what their children do?

Bryan Davis said...

Anonymous, as you know, I left it open for future possibilities. I might come back to it, but I don't know when.

Just curious: when did you send out the copies for people who won in the last contest?
Can't wait to read it!

Jessica, I sent them out March 30, including yours. I thought you might have received it by now, but delivery to Canada might be a problem.

Jessica said...

Yeah, I don't remember how long it took the last time...
Thanks! ^-^

Can't wait for this book. Still waiting to get my hands on it...

One complaint though...

IT'S NOT LONG ENOUGH!

Ah Well... I'll have to accept 600 and some pages.

I'm sure Mr. Davis will have outdone himself as he constantly has throughout this incredible series.

I got my copy a couple of days ago. I would be done, but my dad won't let me stay up till 1:00!:) All I'm going to say is that I was surprised! Just like Morgan's heart wearing earmuffs, It was very heart warming! Thank you, Mr. Davis for all the inspiration you have given me!

I got my book today! Thanks.
I will have to wait to read it though (last semester finishes in a couple weeks).

Ok, I just got it yesterday, and I read through half the book and MADE myself stop! I love it! Lol, I'm afraid of finishing it because I don't want it to be the last book! *Sob* So, I am speading it out over 4 days to make it last. I'm so glad though, now I own them all!
All I say is "please don't stop writing fantasy!"

Does saphira adi have five fingers or six? -since technichally she is a nehpilim

-Mitchell
if you would
you can reply on my sister kirsten erin's blogger account : livingwater-christianteen.blogspot.com

Bryan Davis said...

Mitchell, I looked at your sister's blog, and I don't know where to post a reply to your question, so I hope you see it here.

Sapphira has five fingers on each hand. Although she came from the same genetic pool as the Nephilim did, she didn't pick up the six-finger trait. In my story world, the six fingers are a gender-linked trait, so most of the males had them, and most of the females didn't.

I finished the bones of makaidos at 11:00 pm last night(4/20/09) and am very pleased with it but very very very sad that it will most likely be the end (at least for billy and bonnie banister)to me if this was made into a movie and done right this book(and all of the others)would go way past harry potter, narnia, lord of the rings and any other movie in this gernein the box office.I'm giving this book one hundred stars.I'm int he middle of righting a letter to you(Mr.Davis)I love this series and the diom series soooooooooooooooooo much.thanks again for a wounderful end to awoderful series.

Bryan Davis said...

Thank you, Christian. I'm glad you liked it so much. I'll look forward to getting your letter.

Well I finished. I paced myself because I always become extremely sad and bummed when I finish a series. (Maybe I'm sensing a portal! 0_o)

I just wanted to let you know, Mr. Davis that this is the best and most inspiring book I have ever read. It was truly awesome. All I can say is 5 stars, two thumbs up, standing O, and all the other exclamations and actions of pure awesomness!

Thank you so much!

Bryan Davis said...

C, thank you. Your review is very kind and encouraging.

Absoloutely my favorite book ever. Thank you so much Mr. Davis. It was phenomenal. I can't believe how well you combined great themes with such heart pounding action!

Truly amazing...

I can't wait to see if we will discover the further adventures of the younger generation...

Sir, I am a 14 year old Alaskan.I havn't gotten the book yet, (I'm hoping to get it for christmas) But I've read all the books in the series up to it. You serious need to firnd a way to make a movie of it! (Bugget allowing, of course.) That would be at the top of the list of movies I would like to see! Do you have any plans for a series of movies? (or a least one?)

Bryan Davis said...

BDR, I would love to see movies made. I have a Hollywood producer working on it. We need to raise money, so it might take a while.

Bryan Davis Rules! said...

Wow! That would be awsome! And I'm sure that all of the other fans of the series would think it also. I must tell you it was an honor conversing with you sir.

I was just thinking about DIOM when I saw a movie with a girl who reminded me so much of Bonnie, I was surprised when she took off her backpack. :)

Which movie was it?

P.S. I got book for christmas and it's AWESOME! (still working on though. It's massive.)

I think it was The Lovely Bones. The main character just looked like Bonnie to me.
