Thou, O Lord, Art a Shield

Psalm 3 has been a comfort to me today. I'm certain most of my blog readers are familiar with it, but I thought I'd post the text anyway.

1 O Lord, how my adversaries have increased!
Many are rising up against me.
2 Many are saying of my soul, “There is no deliverance for him in God.”

3 But Thou, O Lord, art a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
4 I was crying to the Lord with my voice,
And He answered me from His holy mountain.
5 I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me round about.

7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God!
For Thou hast smitten all my enemies on the cheek;
Thou hast shattered the teeth of the wicked.
8 Salvation belongs to the Lord;
Thy blessing be upon Thy people!

I am thankful today that God is a shield. (Text is from the New American Standard Bible, 1977)

Thank you, I needed to be reminded of God's unfailing protection today in particular.

Isn't it wonderful that we can lean on Him?

I love the Psalms. We sing a song at our church based of verses 1-6 of this one.

Thanks, I think that verse is just what I needed. I have received some hard news and I really needed that verse. The details are on my blog, by the way. Thanks again:)
