Progress Report

I finished the first draft of The Bones of Makaidos, and now I will work on the polishing phase. The draft is rough, and since the book is so long, this step will take quite a while. When I'm done, I think it will be at least as long as Eye of the Oracle. We'll see. The book is supposed to come out in April, so I have to finish all the edits by the end of this month.

I also finished the line edits for Nightmare's Edge and turned them in to Zondervan, so that book is completely done.

In January I will begin work on a new series tentatively entitled Riders of the Apocalypse.

Whoo-hoo! I've been watching your word count and hoping that you'd keep going until you equaled or beat EOTO. I think it's great that you might equal it!!

I am so excited! I prayed that finishing it would go smoothly, and I will continue praying as you edit. :o)

Like everyone's been saying- That's super exciting! EotO was amazing and it'll be fun to read another of that length, which means there's alot to cover! :D
As for Nightmare's Edge, that's also wonderful. I just got finished reading BtRE and will be reading EE sometime soon.
Riders of Apocalypse sounds cool. Can't wait 'til you can tell us what that's all about.
:D
Have a blessed day!

Are you able to give us more of a hint on what the Riders series'll be like?
I know what the riders are...but they can mean anything...
The anticipation is killing me

Bryan Davis said...

Nathan, no hints yet. I probably won't describe it any further until I'm well into writing the story. Maybe in February.

Love the name on that last one. But hey when will you give us all a new thing to argue with you about, if you don't mind me asking

Bryan Davis said...

Nikoxine, something to argue about?

I wrote another meditation from Jeremiah that I might post here soon. I'm sure it will make Calvinists upset. We'll see.

Great Job! I can't wait for April.

I'm sorry I was joking because I heard that there were numerous controversial discussions on this site and was making a bad joke about it

April...It's so far...

Nikoxine, you're right. There are some really controversial discussions here. I usually only agree with about 50% of the controversial stuff Mr. Davis posts, but I keep coming back because:
(a)Controversies challenge me to define solidly what my beliefs are and why I believe them, and
(b)Mr. Davis speaks his mind. I can't stand to listen to people who won't speak openly about their beliefs when they know their beliefs won't be popular with the general populace, even if I agree with their viewpoint.
So if you're looking for controversies, just wait a little while, and maybe look back at some of the things Mr. Davis posted earlier (especially regarding salvation and "The Shack," in that order).

Caleb, I appreciate that comment. I want always to be straightforward, because I am not ashamed of what I believe in, no matter how unpopular my beliefs are.

I am thinking about a post that will not be agreeable to some, but since my wife's mother died this morning, we will have a funeral in addition to Christmas delays, so I'm not likely to post it for a while.

Dear Bryan,

Cool, can't wait, for the books and for the next argument. Maybe I'll interject my own oppinion this time.

I think one reason your views are 'so unpopular', as you put it, is that you ACTUALLY SAY WHAT YOU THINK, WHAT YOU BELIEVE, AND THE ONLY PERSON YOU CARE WHO CARES IS GOD.I think that's awesome, especially today, when so many people are trained to sensor themselves about their beliefs.

Also, when are you going to link the BoM picture to a synopsis? Just curious (and a little impatient;).

In Christ,
Thomas
