Countdown to Beyond the Reflection's Edge Day 2

Trivia: The idea for Beyond the Reflection's Edge came from my second-born son. I wanted an idea for a new fantasy series. After I conducted a brainstorming session with my family that produced no good results, he came into my office with an idea about a mirror that showed an open trunk while in reality, the trunk wasn't open. That was the seed that sprouted Beyond the Reflection's Edge.

News: I have a few advance reader copies left. If you are able to do a review (blog, magazine, newspaper, etc), please let me know, and I'll send one to you.

Reviews:

Edgy, exhilarating, enthralling, a showcase of refreshing and compelling ideas. I used to think that no book could ever beat Dragons in our Midst, but this latest story is not only Bryan Davis' best yet, it is by far the best novel that I have read to date. I started reading this book one morning, and could hardly pry myself away from the pages until the next morning. ~ Siobhan Baird, Age 19

Full of high adventure and spiritual truth, Beyond the Reflection's Edge had me spellbound from the first page to the last. Mr. Davis's writing is, as always, crisp, clean, and magical, evoking powerful images and emotion, bringing to light a certain depth of understanding and realization that only the best fiction can deliver. As a Christian, a musician (particularly as a violinist), and a reader, this book managed to encapsulate nearly everything that I hold dear: God, artistry, and the mysterious complexities of the universe that God has created. Bravo, I say. I can't wait until the next book. ~ Taylor Sasse, Age 17

Only 26 days until Beyond the Reflection's Edge is released!

That's great that you got your family involved!

Aww I wish I worked for a newspaper or magazine >_< Then I could read the book sooner!

Can't wait to read it, and I can't wait to share it!

I've got a blog, but it only gets like ten visits (That are not me.) a month maybe so it really would be a waste of a book for you. :D

Besides, and this is perhaps strange, I have a fear (A long dreadful story I do not wish to tell) of one of what I believe is your character's names in this book. Reading the book would likely prove to be a torment to me.

Still I hope the book does well for you! It looks very interesting. Maybe someday I'll read it.

Shane,

Please email me and we'll discuss the possible review. I'm also curious about the character name.

I will e-mail you, but it might be tonight or tomorrow. I'm rather busy on Sundays with Church related activities and spending time with a dear friend of mine in the afternoons.

I've got a blog! I get like 5-10 posts per day, but still, everyone in the YCF will read it if I ask them!

I was wondering how the original idea for the mirror came about...there is something quite similar in Harry Potter, and since I know you are a strong protestor of the books, I thought it rather interesting that you had a similar occurance. (Using a mirror showing something to transport an object out of the mirror and into the viewer's possesion)

The idea came from one of my children, years ago, well before I read any of the Harry Potter books.

I have now read the first four HP books, and I don't remember the use of the mirror, but it has been described to me, and it's very different from what happens in this story.
