I have few updates to give, but first, a new photo. To the left is godsgirl with Erica at the Family Christian store, 5042 Airport Pulling Road in Naples Florida.
I am adding a new way to get points. If you make a T-shirt and wear it while handing out fliers that tell about Beyond the Reflection's Edge, send me a photo of you doing that, and you'll get twenty points (only one twenty-point award per person). Remember to put on your flier where a person can get a copy of the book, whether locally or on the Internet, and suggest that they let you know they bought it so you can get referral points. There is no limit to the number of referrals you can earn.
Some people have asked about doing reviews on my other books. You are welcome to do that, of course, but they won't count for this contest. I am planning another contest when Last of the Nephilim is released, so reviews for all Dragons in our Midst and Oracles of Fire books will count for that contest, whether you do the reviews now or after the contest begins.
I have decided to delay the beginning of the quiz portion of the contest until Monday, May 26. Be ready to check this blog for the first stage then. Everyone who emails me with the correct answer will get points, but the first person will get extra points. I will provide details on Monday.
Answers will have to come through email. Adding a comment on my blog that contains an answer will not be allowed.
Action among the top contestants is heating up. Many of you haven't turned in any reports, but it's not hard to accumulate points quickly. Let's get those reports in!

So we must make a T-shirt and pass out fliers or is it allowed that we just pass out fliers? (I'm not familiar with making my own t-shirt designs)
anonymous,
Making the T-shirt and wearing it in public while passing out fliers is what earns the twenty points. You can still pass out fliers with information that can help you get referral points. If someone buys the books because you passed out the flier, you can get twenty points for each book.
I am going to have a birthday party at my house this Saturday and all of my friends coming are avid readers. If I made a t-shirt and gave them fliers there would it count or is that not public enough?
Abigail,
That would count. Remember to put "where to buy" information and remind them to let you know if they bought it so you can get referral points.
I have another question. If I made a video and posted it on several sites I know that it would only count as twenty points once, but when I post it at other sites could it count as just reviews?
Mr. Davis, I am not part of this contest, but my sister and I started a blog that we write book reviews on. Echoes from the Edge is one book I reviewed. One of the people in the contest posted a comment that was just another review. Since she did not ask, and her review disagreed with mine I deleted it. (I do not mind people disagreeing with me, I would just prefer they make discussion instead of writing a review over mine.) Would you ask your contestants to ask before they post reviews on other people’s blogs.
Is passing out flyers at my 4-H Club public enough???
SplitPersonality,
It seems to me that asking to post a review on someone else's blog is pretty basic, so it didn't occur to me to list it.
Contestants, if you want to post a review on someone else's blog, please ask permission first.
SP, I read your review, and I also disagree with many of your points. Do you want me to comment on your blog?
Passing out fliers anywhere is allowed. To get the twenty points, I need a photo of you in a promotional T-shirt with your fliers.
Remember, the fliers can help you get referral points no matter where you pass them around.
what are we supposed to add to our tshirts? like write on it Beyond the Reflection's Edge by Bryan Davis ROCKS! or something like that?
plus I'm just going to use a tshirt in my closet because I don't know how to make a tshirt. ;)
one question about the flyers......can we hand out bookmarks about BtRE and write on it who to contact if they buy it or something?
Magma,
That sounds fine, just as long as the title is clear.
Magma,
Yes, those bookmarks will count as fliers, but they don't say where you can get the books locally or how to let you know if a person buys one. You might be better off making a flier.
I'l be with out access to any internet when you release the first quiz, can I answer the quiz a few days late?
Daniel,
You will be given credit for answering anytime before the end of the contest, that is, the end of June.
Mr. Davis, I love it when people disagree (who are willing to discuss the issue rationally), and good conversation begins. Feel free to post anything you wish.
Mr. Davis,
If we hand out fliers while wearing the T-shirts in public and people buy the book, do we have to ask them for the reciept?
